Giving Yoga Audio Practices Introduction

I am honored to provide you with fourteen different practices designed to increase your self-awareness and calm your nervous system. These practices have been influenced by my Yoga training and my Yoga teachers, by Dialectical Behavioral Therapy created by Marsha Linehan, and one of my favorite books My Grandmothers’ Hands by Resmaa Menakem.

These practices can be used in a variety of ways.  You can use them when you just need a break, or to help you refocus.  They can be used to decrease anxiety, relieve discomfort, or even pain.

Though these practices go well together, you can also participate in any one of them individually.  These practices can be done sitting up in a chair or laying down, and you will find in time you can pretty much do them anywhere.

My intention is for these practices to be calming.  If at any time pain or discomfort increases, please honor yourself by pausing, adjusting, accommodating for your needs, or stopping the practice altogether.

More than anything I hope my voice reminds you that you are not alone, as these recordings were created with you at heart.

Giving Yoga Audio Practices Closing

I would like to thank you for taking the time to practice with me.  I hope these practices have supported you in increasing your self-awareness and calming your nervous system.  I want to remind you that we call these activities practices because they become more effective with practice.

Though I was unable to include them via recording, I want to encourage you everyday to engage in some of the most beneficial practices.  Moving your body and dancing, singing, chanting or even humming your favorite song, and getting fresh air in nature.

I would like to thank my teachers and mentors who have supported my development over the years. And I would like to give a special thanks to Erik Gant for his tech support.  These recording would not have been possible without you:)

Thank you all for practicing with me.

Namaste

The light and goodness inside me recognizes and honors the light and goodness inside you.
